About Lara
Lara Kaylor is a freelance writer living in the Eastern Sierra town of Mammoth Lakes, where she worked full-time for local newspapers, The Sheet and the Mammoth Times for more than a decade before turning to freelance. She loves exploring the outdoors in many forms, but hiking and biking are her favorite.
Lara’s work has been published in multiple outlets including SKI Magazine, Bicycling Magazine, Sierra Heritage Magazine and Snowshoe Magazine.
Lara earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to her freelance writing, she works full time as the Director of Communications at Mammoth Lakes Tourism.
When she’s not outside you’ll find her curled up with a good book and a latte, or in the kitchen trying a new baking recipe.
